Each of our carpet bags is modeled on the old style doctor's bag...but better. Featuring the most luxurious of tapestries, this soft bag folds flat for storage making it a perfect addition to your travel needs. Utilizing a spring-loaded hinge, this all-purpose travel bag springs open to display a large 8 x 17 inch opening. Bag stays in the open position until you decide to close it....then snaps shut. Each carpet bag features a rigid bottom board with brass studs on the outside. The studs raise the bag from the floor thus protecting the fabric. The bag also features rolled glove leather handles, brass trim, detachable shoulder strap (not shown in photo) and four 7 x 10 inch pockets sewn into the lining. Each bag is hand crafted from elegant tapestry fabric with no integral cardboard or plastic stiffeners to make it stand up on its own. These soft bags are great for use as airplane carry-ons since they can usually be molded to fit into overhead racks or under seats.

Because of the time and labor required to make each bag, only the heaviest and most beautiful tapestry is used. Usually only three or four carpets bags are created from the same fabric – making the bag you purchase really special.
