In this metal composite material, alloys of black carbonite and silver are swirled together with chemical binders to form an intricate pattern inspired by traditional Japanese Mokume Gane metalworking techniques. Macro-molecular metal, or M3, is as durable as it is beautiful. The skin of the Space Shuttle, the Stealth Bomber and the International Space Station all contain examples of this remarkable material which is painstakingly turned to form the body of this fine writing instrument. It is finished with contrasting gold components for a truly unique writing instrument.

You may use a fountain pen with a standard ink cartridge (available from any office supply store or stationary shop) or with an ink pump. An ink pump (converter) draws water based ink from a bottle. A fountain pen is a delicate writing instrument and intended to be used with a light touch. Ink should begin to flow when the tip (nib) is touched to the paper. Pressing hard may damage the nib or the paper and will not make the ink flow better.

If the ink is not flowing, it may be because it has dried and clogged the nib or the feed. To clear the clog, wet the point of the nib (use water or ink) or if need be, clean out the pen (see below).

When not using the pen, store it with the nib pointed up to avoid drying and clogging of the pen mechanism. Ink will also evaporate and thicken over time, so replace the cartridge or ink if it has been in the pen for more than a year. If you know you will not be using the pen for a while, empty and clean it.
